Thirty and thriving
I just turned 30! Yay!
A new decade. A new door. Opportunities a breaths away. I am turning into myself this month and winding down on what things I want to do, and nail down what directions I want my work/style to go.
I want to experiment more, take on bigger projects that flow more with anatomy. Looking up to some of my favorites like Fibs and Steve Moore, knowing the thousands of hours spent learning, observing, and failings that led to successes inspires me to really sit with myself.
Sometimes the hardest part of tattooing is that no one is there to guide you 12 years in. It’s just you, and the first lesson in learning that you aren’t seeking inspiration, but rather the discipline it takes to get there. For me, success is a never ending pursuit of wanting to learn more about tattooing and its counterparts. I never had a formal college education. I only know how to get to work.
I will be as gentle as I can with myself during the next parts of my life, outside of my work. I know I have some bad habits that lean towards destructive behaviors that affect my inner world.
Happy Virgo season!
